Coptic Cairo sits inside the old Roman fortress, a few quiet lanes south of downtown. It is a morning, not a whole day, which is why it pairs so well with Giza after lunch or with a museum afternoon. The streets are narrow. A private car waits outside; you walk in with the guide.
The Hanging Church, the Church of St Sergius, and Ben Ezra Synagogue are the usual three. None of them rewards a rush. If a liturgy is underway we wait or we reorder. Religious sites ask for covered shoulders and a modest voice. The guide handles tickets and the small courtesies that keep the visit welcome.
From here the Nile roads back to Zamalek, Garden City, or a Giza hotel are simple outside rush hour. We do not bolt on a papyrus gallery unless you asked for one in writing.
