A Cairo connection can hold the pyramids. It cannot hold the pyramids, the museum, Islamic Cairo, and lunch in Khan el-Khalili. The honest layover is one site, a private car from Cairo International, and a return that still has a margin for security.
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 sit on the north-east edge of the city. Giza is across town. With a guide meeting you after baggage and immigration, a plateau visit and a return to the airport fits a connection of roughly eight hours or more, door to door, in normal traffic. Under six hours, stay airside. We would rather refuse the day than watch you miss the onward flight.
You need a visa or visa on arrival eligibility, and a passport the guide can match to the tickets. Luggage can stay in the car. We do not store bags landside “with a friend.” The confirmation names the terminal, the flight numbers, and the latest time we turn the car around.
If the connection is overnight, the same car can do Giza in the morning and a hotel, or Giza and a short GEM slot. Sketch the hours against Cairo and Giza, then send the flights on Plan my tour.
